The rapid weight loss is common in the first few days of the HCG diet. The moment you step in the VLCD, you will see improvement daily. You will shed an amazing amount each day. This is very common to all HCG dieters. You do not have to wait for many days before you will see development. Commonly, you will shed up to 1 pound each day. Some of the weight losses are retained water. This is because of the foods that are high in sodium. Most of the pounds that are shed are caused by carbs, sugar and other water retention. The body will naturally flush out water that is stored and causes weight gain.

Another common thing is the VLCD naturally flushes out the unhealthy fats. This is by the help of the HCG diet hormones. The body will start to tear off the stubborn fats in the hard to reach areas of the body. The abnormal fats will be burned in large quantities. This usually results in rapid weight loss. The rapid weight loss will be constant if the protocol is done right. The rapid weight loss takes place during the VLCD. Be watchful with the food choices in the VLCD. Any slip in doing the diet protocol has an effect on weight loss.

Exercise is not allowed in the HCG diet. You are not allowed to do even a light exercise in the first 3 few days of the VLCD. Why? It is because; the body is still adjusting in the caloric restriction. It is still getting used to the absence of carbs as the energy source. You are allowed to have light exercise after the body is used to the VLCD. This is when you do not feel any hunger pains. Transitioning from overeating to caloric restriction is quite hard. However, you need to consider it because it is part of the process of weight loss. You will get a positive result even in the absence of exercise. If you are used to exercising, you are just allowed to do the light ones such as the cardio. Make sure that you do not stress yourself out by doing heavy workouts.

Remember that hunger is either physical or emotional. There is a big difference between feeling hungry and real hunger. Respond to physical hunger and not to emotional hunger. Emotional hunger will just cause overeating.
