Your goal must be getting full and enjoying the foods you eat without gaining weight.

The Very Low-Calorie Diet

The VLCD stands for a very low-calorie diet. You can only consume 500 calories per day in compliance with the protocol. The calories that you will be getting on this phase must be from the items on the food list. Do not eat any foods that are not in the HCG diet food list to avoid weight gain. During the VLCD you have to make sure that you stay full without adding too many calories. To maintain fullness you have to take your HCG shots at the same time each day.

How to eat more foods without adding calories during the VLCD?

  • Swap fatty meat with lean meats

Regardless of how much you weigh your foods if it contains fats you can still gain weight. During Phase 2 of the HCG diet, you cannot eat foods that contain fats especially meats. Avoid hamburger, bacon, and deep-fried meats. Instead of having fatty meats you can eat lean meats such as shrimp and crab meat. You can also eat lean beef meats, fish, and chicken meats. Lean meats are a good source of protein that maintains your satiety.

  • Eat more vegetables instead of carbs

Consume more on vegetables instead of digging into a bowl of mashed potatoes or rice. Vegetables are more filling than carbohydrates. Learn to fill your plate with healthy meals during the VLCD. It can improve your health and supply the exact nutrients that your body needs. Consider swapping potatoes with cauliflower, broccoli, and other leafy greens. You can also swap unhealthy drinks and fruit juices with a fresh spinach smoothie.

  • Do not eat dried fruits and canned veggies

The reason why you are putting calories even when you’re eating fruits is because of processed foods. Canned veggies and dried fruits are mistaken as healthy foods. Avoid these products because it already contains harmful industrial ingredients. Dried fruits have extra sugar and preservatives. Canned vegetables also contain preservatives and high calories levels. The nutritional value of canned vegetables and dried fruits is degrading because of processing.

  • Avoid mixing vegetables

Mixing vegetables can add more calories to your meal. Vegetables have different levels of calories. When you mix them you are more likely to mix calories. During the second phase of the HCG diet, you can eat one type of veggies per meal. Avoid eating salads or adding salad dressings to prevent adding calories.

Improve your meals and recipes during Phase 2 of the HCG diet. You can explore on your diet food list for more choices. Do not stick to having the same meal every day. Stay hydrated to flush out toxins that result in hunger and cravings. Proper hydration improves satiety during the VLCD.
