You can still proceed with reaching your weight loss goal even during menstruation. Should you worry about the changes in your body? No. It’s because there are guides and instructions you can follow when menstruation comes.

You have to stop your HCG shots during your period. It’s because you need to give time for the natural cycle in your body. Stop taking your HCG shots but continue your diet. It only means that you need to eat 500 calories per day even without the shots. You do not have to worry about hunger because the HCG from your last shot remains active for 72 hours. Some food choices will help you ease hunger when your period will last for more than 3 days.

The foods you can have when the period comes on the HCG diet

  • Water-rich fruits- Water-rich fruits such as grapefruits, oranges, and apples are good for menstruation. These fruits prevent you from having muscle cramps. These fruits improve fullness and curb your hunger. These are also flavorful which deals with your cravings during PMS.
  • Lean chicken meat- This meat is another food that is rich in iron and protein. Protein helps you stay full throughout your period. This means that it alleviates hunger even without the HCG. You can have lean chicken meat soup and vegetables.
  • Dark and leafy greens- These are great ideas for your menstruation. Leafy greens can relieve muscle tension that triggers menstrual pain. They also absorb and drop compounds that cause pain. Leafy greens such as spinach, celery, broccoli, and cabbage are great during menstruation.
  • Water or tea- Drinking plenty of water helps you stay full and improve your brain focus. It can also flush out water weights caused by menstruation. Having a cup of tea also alleviates bloating and constipation during your period.
